Ms. Godsey is an experienced early childhood education professional with over 20 years of experience in program development, management, and administration. Her leadership skills has expanded from being a cook in a childcare facility to becoming the director, and now owner of Kidz Korner daycare & Kidz Zone After-School program.
As a devoted advocate for children, Ms. Godsey has traveled state to state fighting for the rights of children and families in Illinois. Ms. Godsey went door to door asking citizens in the community to sign up for quality child care for children and affordable home health care rights for adults. She has worked with many associations to educate the providers about quality and equal care for all families.
Because of her continued commitment to the children and families of Proviso Township, Ms. Godsey facilitates parent discussion groups to get parents insight on what they would like to contribute to the program and ways they can volunteer their time outside the home with their child. Ms. Godsey continues to develop and implement developmentally appropriate program for all children in Maywood and its’ surrounding suburbs. Ms. Godsey serves as the CEO of Kidz Korner Daycare& Kidz Zone After-School Program. She’s also a new board member with New Moms an organization that helps young mothers gain housing and social services they need to be productive. She is the WBDC 2019 Rising star awardee and a member of the Chicago 300 Black Women’s organization.
